Special Announcement: Happy Birthday, Outside of the Breadbox!

Happy Birthday

Outside of the Breadbox

What, no cake!?

It's hard for me to believe, but Outside of the Breadbox is a year old today! With 200 posts and tens of thousands of visitors, this first year has been a great start.

That's right... this is just the beginning!

With graduation from Culinary School on the horizon, I'm just getting started. So while those regular Culinary School updates will soon come to an end, they will be replaced by a regular stream of original recipes and other special features

The insatiable sweet tooth that prompted me to start the blog will now benefit from the formal academic background in pastry technique. And I continue to work at Osteria Morini in NYC, so there's no shortage of inspiration.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the blog over the past year as much as I have. I always love to hear from people, so send me an email or leave a comment. And if you're not following already, check out Outside of the Breadbox on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @BreadChefMark.

"Birthday" Sundae with Glazed Donut, Junior Mints, Reese's Puffs and Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sauces

But seriously, where is the cake!?

I know. You would think the least I could do would be to bake a cake to celebrate, but coincidentally, this birthday falls right in the middle of the final Practical Exam in Culinary School. I already have so many recipes to complete, I just couldn't get to a cake!

I did, however, celebrate with an ungodly, homemade Cookies and Cream Sundae over a bowl of Reese's Puffs and Topped with a Glaze Donut, Junior Mints, Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge Sauce... and a little Whipped Cream. It was a delicious as it was lofty.

Older recipes are always available in the Past Project Archive, but on the occasion of this One-Year Anniversary, I thought this list links would be helpful.
